Programs and Services

EPU has emerged as a leader in providing and promoting comprehensive, family-centered early intervention services through five major programs:

Family Resource Center

Family Resource Center

The Family Resource Center is staffed by parents of children with special needs and provides parent-to-parent support, parent support groups, information about special needs, assistance in locating and accessing services and training on how parents can become effective advocates for their children right from the start.


Infant Family Program

Infant Family Program

The Infant Family Program is for infants and toddlers from birth to three years of age whose development is delayed, who have identified disabilities, or who have serious medical conditions affecting their development.


Gentle Start

Gentle Start

The purpose of the Gentle Start program is to monitor, support and enhance the development of infants and toddlers who face medical, social, emotional and developmental challenges that place them at risk for developmental difficulties and their families.


Learning about Parenting

Learning about Parenting

The focus of this program is child abuse prevention and targets parents who are overburdened by life's circumstances, including parents recovering from drug and alcohol abuse, parents involved with and referred by Child Protective Services, teen parents, and parents with developmental disabilities.


Play & Grow

Play & Grow

Play and Grow provides therapeutic playgroups for infants and children participating in all of EPU’s programs.


Assesment Center For Children

Assessment Center for Children offers Fresno County children, birth through 5 years of age, assessment services from multiple agencies in one location. Workshops / Classes

SOAR! = Self awareness, Overcoming obstacles, Achieving success, Reaching for the stars. SOAR! offers services to individuals and families as they exit the educational system.
