BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CLINICIAN 

The Behavioral Health Clinician (BHC) is responsible for providing consultation and short-term treatment to various populations including drug-exposed, developmentally delayed, trauma-affected (depression, anxiety, substance abuse, etc.) infants, children, and adults. Provide consultation and support to center staff as needed.  Facilitate psycho educational trauma based groups.  Facilitate reflective practice with staff.   Work with multidisciplinary team (LAP Home Visitors, Program Manager, DSS social worker, etc.) in developing and implementing family centered care plans and interventions.
 
Job Requirements:
Education: Must have a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology or master degree in social work, marriage and family therapy or related field

Licensure:   Must be licensed to practice in California or obtain licensure within two years of hire date..
 
Experience: Two (2) + years’ experience working as part of multidisciplinary team in assessing; developing and implementing behavior &/or mental health care plans; facilitating workshops; and treating young children with social/emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges and their parents

Substitute for Education:  None

Substitute for Experience:  Other extensive and intensive related experience may be considered along with necessary skills to perform duties of position.
 
Personal Qualifications: Must have a strong academic and clinical grounding in family systems and child development.  Must have warmth and be sensitive to the issues facing children and families with special needs.  Must be able to work well in a team environment, be highly organized and motivated, and be personable and present EPU professionally to other professionals and the community.

The position requires the ability to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
