During a Clinic a trained advocate will assist parents in defining goals and dreams for their child to meet his/her unique educational needs in preparation for your Individualized Education Plan (IEP), Infant Family Service Plan (IFSP) or 504 meeting. All Clinics are confidential sessions scheduled individually with your family.
All Clinics are designed to assist parents of children ages 3-22 in developing an action plan designed specifically to meet their child's unique educational needs.
Parents learn the legal protections they have to ensure that their child receives a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE).
In our clinics, parents enhance their skills in effectively communicating their child's needs to professionals and learn how to be an active participant at meetings regarding their child.
A parent advocate assists parents in prioritizing their child's needs. Parents increase their ability to participate as a confident member of their child's IEP, IFSP or 504 team.

Transition Clinics for Infants to
Preschool:
A child's transition from infancy to preschool can be aided
by attending a clinic at EPU. Our infant to
preschool clinics are designed to help families understand
transition time lines and to provide clear descriptions of the
educational possibilities available.
Transition Clinics for Students:
Transition Clinics are held for parents and children to prepare
students as active participants in their own educational
planning
Students leave the clinics with a written plan designed to assist the transition team in providing the services and support necessary for progression into a successful adult life.
The Transition Clinics are separate for students and parents, and each student is assigned his or her own advocate.
School to Work Transition:
This clinic is designed to assist parents of children ages 14
-22 years in developing an action plan designed for preparation
into adulthood.
Special Education law requires that school districts create an adult transition plan when your child is 14 years old.
In this clinic, parents will learn about the various program and educational sites available after their young adults exit the public education system.
The Parent Training and Information (PTI) Center, Family Empowerment Center (FEC) and SOAR! are a part of EPU's Family Resource Center.
