Web site accessability is an ongoing endeavour at Exceptional Parents Unlimited (EPU). Currently the site has been validated by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) for HTML 4.01 and CSS2. The site is also AA Watchfire/Bobby approved.
The use of pop-up windows occurs on the Calendar page only. This was done to help users who have a tendancy to close windows, instead of clicking the Back button, when browsing PDF files. Alternative methods for obtaining the information have been provided as well.
Our site is compatible for all current major browsers. Backward compatibility for Internet Explorer goes back to version 5.
Our online PowerPoint presentations and videos have not been transcribed into text. However it is our goal for all content to be accessable and to be AAA Watchfire/Bobby approved in the future.
The EPU Web site contains no tables unless used for the display of data. This makes the site more accessible for screen readers and other augmentative technologies. Jump links have been placed in the code for screen readers so repeated navigation schemes can be skipped when desired.
