Does You Child Qualify for Supplemental Security Income?

Supplemental Security Income is a governmental program that pays a monthly check to adults and children who have a disability and does not have a lot of family income. If your child is diagnosed with a hearing loss, SSI will be granted upon your financial report (income, assests, savings). Your will then become the one who will oversee your child's SSI until he/she is 18 years old. SSI funds can be used at your discretion to pay for food, housing, supplies for your child or family.

Who can get SSI?

  1. Be a U.S. Citizen or resident
  2. Have a disability. This would mean that your child's hearing lossing will last for then 1 year.
